New Year's Resolutions

A long-standing December tradition here at SWAN has been the 12 Days of Gifts. For each of the 12 days, SWAN staff prepared and distributed a "gift" in the form of new documentation, service upgrades, and similar useful delights. This was Kate Boyle's annual labor of love and as December drew in this year, we realized none of us were up to the task. Instead, we've taken up the idea and in the same spirit, brought it into the new year with SWAN Resolutions.

Resolution #1

Share what you can ~ not just your material, but your ideas and experiences as well! SWAN has a fantastically diverse collection of user groups and we are pleased to announce 2 more.

ILL Users Group - This group was created to discuss and share all things Interlibrary Loan! The first meeting for this group is February 13, 2019, at the RAILS Burr Ridge facility, you can register on L2. Likely to be first among the discussion items is WorldCat Discovery/WSILL integration with patron-initiated requests.

Outreach Users Group - This group was created by SWAN libraries using the Outreach Module in WorkFlows but you don't need to use it to attend. It is a good place to start if you are interested in learning more about how to simplify your service to homebound patrons with the module. The first meeting for this group is January 25, 2019, at the RAILS Burr Ridge facility, you can register on L2.

To see all SWAN 2019 Meetings and Events, visit L2 and search for the tag SWAN2019.

Be sure to visit the ILA Luminary site to remember Kate. Donations are still being accepted for her scholarship. Her legacy as a staunch library advocate and a resource sharing master will last forever.
