Reporting Library Closings

In an effort to better organize library closings and provide consistent communication on these closings, we ask that libraries report their library closings on the RAILS website. Those closings will be shared to the SWAN membership through our centralized listing of Upcoming Library Closings. A link to this page is available from the SWAN support site home page under the Help Desk options.

Follow these steps to manage your closings:

  1. Update your Days Closed in Symphony Workflows.
  2. Update your library's closings on the RAILS website.
  3. Will any of your collections be unavailable longer than three days? If so, submit a help ticket to let us know. 

SWAN will only announce emergency closings which impact access to library collections for an extended period via SWANcom messaging. All other library closings, such as weather related and in-service, will be listed on the Upcoming Library Closings page for reference.
