*Concluded Successfully* Database Rebuild & Scheduled Downtime on February 23rd/24th

Our scheduled database maintenance has concluded successfully! All impacted services are back online and available for use. Your Offline circulation transactions will be processed overnight with our typical system maintenance and those transactions will be reflected on user and item records tomorrow. The SWAN Bibliographic Services team will provide an update in the next few days with some statistics regarding the records changes applied.

The Symphony report queue will be catching up for the remainder of the evening, so please refrain from scheduling any new reports. Additionally, normally scheduled library reports for Acquisitions and other functions have been temporarily suspended to reduce tonight's report backlog. We’ll be unsuspending all reports to resume normal schedules tomorrow.

To accomplish several high priority database maintenance and record cleanup tasks noted in the news post, February Rebuild -- Summary of Bibliographic and Item Record Updates​, SWAN is planning a Symphony database rebuild on Monday, February 24th.

The database rebuild will begin the evening of Sunday, February 23rd at 6pm, and will extend into the workday on Monday, February 24th. During that time, many SWAN services will be unavailable, requiring the use of WorkFlows in Offline mode to maintain checkout functions. The outage will also impact access to the Enterprise Catalog; a banner will be posted to Enterprise to inform our patrons.

We’ll send additional SWANcom and Support Site post updates, so please watch your SWANcoms.

Impacted Services

Beginning at 6pm on 2/23, the following services will be inaccessible throughout the database rebuild:

Enterprise Catalog

  • My Account functions (holds, payments, lists, etc) will be intermittently unavailable
  • Item availability will be intermittently unavailable
  • Bibliographic record and eRC updates from 2/23 may not be reflected on 2/24 due to the suspension of Enterprise harvests during the upgrade

Symphony WorkFlows

  • SIP2 & Web Services integrations (including external vendor subscriptions, digital materials access)
  • WorkFlows will be inaccessible from 6pm on 2/23, possibly until the end of the day on 2/24

BLUEcloud Applications

  • BLUEcloud Analytics February 23rd transactions harvest will be delayed an extra day
  • BLUEcloud Mobile, MobileCirc, BLUEcloud Circ and Cataloging will be unavailable

Using Offline

If you’re unfamiliar with WorkFlows Offline mode, SWAN has created several tutorials to walk you through the process. We highly recommend trying Offline mode prior to the rebuild day so that we can answer any questions you may have or provide troubleshooting.
