As outlined in Fireside/Poolside meetings through the summer, we are at the point where the vast majority of libraries have returned to resource sharing. For libraries that have enabled resource sharing, this will be extended to non-SWAN reciprocal borrowers starting Thursday, September 17th.

Holds placed by reciprocal borrowers outside of SWAN will no longer be disabled. These patrons will be able to place holds through Enterprise and mobile apps, including BLUEcloud Mobile. You should start seeing holds for these patrons on your pull lists.

Although your library may not have pick-up anywhere settings in Enterprise enabled, any patron can access any SWAN library catalog. It is possible these patrons could be signing into the system through your Enterprise catalog to request holds and pick-up location.

If your library is unable to fill holds for patrons outside of your service area at this time, sort the Onshelf Items list by pick-up library and identify patrons outside your library by barcode prefix. You may elect not to fulfill those holds until your library is providing service to patrons outside your service area. To provide a more positive patron experience you may wish to contact those patrons to assist them in finding a library able to support them during restricted service.
