Correcting Combo Pack records

As a palliative measure to prevent duplicate records, and libraries and patrons confused as to where to attach their items or place holds, we are asking all libraries to take the following steps when ordering DVDs and Blu-Rays:

1- When ordering combo packs, quite often libraries end up receiving the Blu-Ray only or the DVD only.  If you receive any email or notice from vendors stating that the combo pack is no longer available for any reason, please check the catalog to see which record your item is attached to.

2- If you are attached to a combo pack record, but will receive only the Blu-Ray or the DVD, please transfer your item to the appropriate record immediately. If no record exists, please create a pre-cat or ask for SWAN’s assistance with creating one via the ticket system.   

Do not add notes to combo pack records stating, for example,  “Contains the Blu-Ray only” or "DVD only."

3- Upon receiving the item, please verify if the pre-cat contains the correct information, specifically the number of discs in the 300 tag.
