Aspen Go-Live March 8th

Submitted by Tara Wood on

We've had a few questions from members about what is happening on the March 8th soft launch for Aspen. Here is a recap of the steps that SWAN will take that date, and what your library should do between now and April 26th, when Enterprise is no longer available.

SWAN updates March 8th

Enterprise banner

SWAN will post the following banner to all Enterprise catalogs for all libraries, directing patrons to your Aspen catalog and informing them that they can use both catalogs until April 26th.

banner reading The library is moving to a new catalog April 26th. If you use my lists you can copy those to the new catalog between now an April 26th. Go to the new catalog.

List copying in Enterprise

SWAN will add the ability to copy lists to the Cohort 2 Enterprise catalogs. If you're already live on Aspen, this is already turned on for you. When patrons view their lists they'll see instructions to copy their lists and a button to copy the standard numbers for all items in a list.

Online fines payment available for all public libraries

Just a few libraries aren't yet set up for online fines payment. For those remaining, we'll set your catalogs up with the SWAN PayPal account so your patrons can pay fines. If your library wants to use your own PayPal account to collect payments, you can request that change at any time through the SWAN ticketing system.

Library steps before Enterprise access ends

We recommend completing these steps before April 1st. The URLs for Enterprise will redirect to Aspen starting April 26th, and our Enterprise instance will shut down April 30th.

Additional "to dos" your library may want to consider were covered in the kickoff meeting. View the recording and slides.
