---Update on 2024/07/18---
Our Symphony Production server has been successfully upgraded to version 4.1. Overnight maintenance reports have completed and library VPN connections have been re-enabled. Symphony/WorkFlows is now accessible.
WorkFlows 4.1 installers are available under Software Downloads & Setup.
WorkFlows 3.7.1 will continue to function after the server upgrade has been completed, but will also result in a client/server mismatch message until the client is upgraded. Simply dismiss the message and continue to use WorkFlows as usual. Note: WorkFlows 3.7.1 will be unable to take advantage of any of the new features and bug fixes introduced in 4.1 (see below for details).
If you encounter any issues or have any concerns please open a support ticket and a member of the support team will be in touch.
Thank you for your patience throughout the upgrade process.
---Update on 2024/07/17---
Reminder: our Symphony Production server will be upgraded to version 4.1 this evening.
During the upgrade ‘My Account’ features, SIP2/WebServices, and other related services will be unavailable.
Our upgrade is scheduled to begin shortly after 11PM and will conclude early morning Thursday July, 18. While we do not anticipate the required use of Offline Mode or downtime during business hours, please wait for the 'All Clear' SWANcom to arrive tomorrow morning before accessing WorkFlows.
A new WorkFlows 4.1 client installer has been made available on the SWAN Support Site. There is no imperative to install the new WorkFlows client before the Symphony 4.1 server upgrade. Once your staff workstations have been updated, please have your library submit the 4.1 Installation Survey (one submission per library, please!)

The Symphony Production server upgrade has been rescheduled to begin Wednesday July 17th shortly after 11PM and conclude early morning Thursday, July 18th.
While we do not anticipate the required use of Offline Mode or downtime during business hours, please wait for the 'All Clear' SWANcom to arrive in the morning of July 18th before accessing WorkFlows.
There is no imperative to install the new WorkFlows client before the Symphony 4.1 server upgrade. The WorkFlows 4.1 installer is available for download on the SWAN support site. Please Note: If you have already downloaded the installer from the previous attempted upgrade, please download a new copy as the installer has been updated.
During the upgrade, My Account features, SIP2/WebServices, and other related systems will be unavailable.
Symphony 4.1 Features
Item Categories 6-10 - Five additional item categories will be available. These categories will remain empty for now. SWAN will discuss possible applications of the additional categories with our Advisory Groups as need arises. These categories are fully integrated into WorkFlows configuration and reports, BLUEcloud Analytics, 949 bib loading procedures, and SIP2.
BLUEcloud Single Sign-On for WorkFlows - This upgrade integrates WorkFlows into the single sign-on capabilities in the BLUEcloud Suite. We anticipate this helping SWAN staff as we build out our single sign-on environment with PingOne.
Symphony 4.1 Bugfixes
Copy User Wizard Not Honoring Charge History Rule - "The Duplicate User and User Lost Card wizards were not copying the Charge History Rule value when copying a user, and instead set the Charge History Rule to a default value of CIRCRULE. This has been fixed so these wizards honor the user's Charge History Rule when making copies of the user."
Trap Holds Incorrectly Handling In-Transit Items With Cancelled Hold - "If an item was in transit for a hold that was canceled or suspended while the item was in transit, the Trap Holds wizard would wrongly make the item available for the next hold in the hold queue, regardless of pickup library. This has been fixed so that the Trap Hold Wizard rechecks the item status after taking it out of transit and puts the item in transit for the next hold, if needed."
Serials Call Numbers with Extra Spaces in Analytics - "When adding a Serials call number with an analytic, SirsiDynix Symphony miscalculated the analytic placement on some systems when existing Serials call numbers using the same base call number were corrupted. This has been fixed so that even if an existing call number is corrupted, SirsiDynix Symphony will manually create the new call number analytic instead of relying on the value from the existing call number."
Reporting Security Failures on RFID Checkouts - "Sometimes, for items with an RFID tag, WorkFlows would allow the checkout of an item even if the RFID device failed to set the security of the item's RFID tag to allow checkout. This has been fixed so that WorkFlows returns an error if the RFID device fails to set the item's RFID security, prompting the user to try the checkout again."
Full release notes for Symphony 4.1 and 4.0 are available on the SirsiDynix Support Site (Product Releases).
