SirsiDynix notified us they resolved the issue with the Twilio service. SMS messages have been resumed following our individual testing at SWAN. Please let us know if you experience any additional issues with SMS messages.

**Update** 5/18/22 10:30 AM
Thank you for your patience as we continue to work with SirsiDynix on this issue. We apologize for the confusion with holds showing as expired on this morning’s Manage Hold Shelf wizard routing back to Holds.
We were able to identify, and send an email to, the patrons with available holds that have chosen to be notified via SMS text for available holds. We extended the Pickup by dates for those holds to Monday, May 23, as they received their first notice yesterday; you will see the updated Pickup by date in the Manage Hold Shelf wizard. We have also resumed the process to expire holds.
You may now process items showing as expired in the Manage Hold Shelf wizard.
If you had already pulled the items from an earlier list:
-
Check the items in and follow the routing instructions on the screen.
- Any hold that routes back to Holds for the same patron had the Pickup by date extended due to the SMS issue. The new hold slip and hold wrapper will indicate the new pickup by date and the item should be put back on the hold shelf
If you did not pull your items from an earlier list:
- Open the wizard and pull only the item shown as expired
- Check the items in and follow the routing instructions on the screen

**Update**
We are identifying patrons that had failed SMS hold pickup notices. We will send an email to those patrons to let them know they should check their accounts online or contact their library for more information. We will not be expiring any holds on the holdshelf until further notice.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have received reports from libraries that patrons are not receiving their SMS notices. Our investigation found most messages are failing due to a block by the wireless carrier. We are working with SirsiDynix to identify and resolve the issue.
This is occurring with all SMS notices:
- Hold Pickup
- Overdue
- Manual Message
All SMS Notices have been suspended until the issue is resolved. Patrons with an email address in their record will receive their notices via email.
We will update this Known Issue as more information is received.
