We're excited to announce the launch of the new SWAN Notice Dialer, with an official go-live date of Tuesday, May 25th! The migration to the new dialer on May 25th will require no downtime and all expected patron PHONE notices will be delivered as scheduled.
The new phone notices dialer system is a contracted, cloud-based service through Unique Management Services and replaces our aging SVA (SirsiDynix Voice Automation) system. The new system will serve patrons with PHONE set as their notice preference and deliver 1st hold and 1st overdue notices. All other notices are served by alternate notice preferences.
We've spent the last month testing with our pilot libraries (Elmwood Park Public Library and Eisenhower Public Library) and are prepared to make the new service available to all SWAN libraries opted-in to patron phone notifications. Our first Membership-wide overdue notices will be generated at 11:00AM on May 25th, with the first batch of hold notices following later that day at 2:00PM. Patrons can expect their calls for holds or overdues shortly after those reports have processed.
Your library needs to know the following about the migration:
- Within the first month of the migration, please submit a help ticket to SWAN to let us know if you'd like to opt-in to have your library's main phone number displayed in the caller ID for your patrons. If you do not opt-in to this service, calls for your library will display SWAN's default toll-free number, 1-877-662-8190.
-
Anticipate daily emails detailing failed calls for the day from Unique's email address (messagebeefailednotificationexport@unique-mgmt.com). They’ll be sent to your [aaa]@notices.swanlibraries.net alias. Please follow-up with patrons as necessary. We also recommend whitelisting the @unique-mgmt.com email domain to ensure these emails are not blocked by spam filters.
