We have completed the processing of the 2021 NCOA address verification. In mid December, 2021, 970,826 patron records were sent for processing through the National Change of Address (NCOA). This process returned 107,427 or 11% with a changed address.
Please review your next steps in reviewing these records on our National Change of Address (NCOA) support page. We ask libraries to review these records and complete one of the following:
- Verify and update these patron records (remove NCOA 2021 note) if the new address is in your service area
- Reach out to a colleague if the patron has moved to anther SWAN library's service area
- Remove the patron record if they are no longer in our SWAN service area.

We are excited to provide geo-location data. We will be looking at tools and resources to help our libraries use this data in analyzing library usage in your service area.
Old news - final clean-up (NCOA 2018)
Also review the final clean-up of the NCOA 2018 records. These patron records are currently blocked. Review those records and take action by April 15, 2022. Instructions are outlined in the National Change of Address (NCOA) support page. Any remaining records with 2018 notes will be removed at that time. Across the SWAN consortium, 5,888 of these records remain.
