The pricing for the SWAN group-purchase of EBSCO subscription database package was presented at the Committee of the Whole membership meeting last week on February 7th. That pricing is included in the meeting packet, and I have pulled out that pricing which is linked directly to the PDF below.
This group purchase is going into its 4th year renewal, which starts July 1, 2023. If you would like to learn more about this subscription database package, you can read about the SWAN EBSCO Databases.
This renewal will move forward with the current 84 participating libraries. Negotiations continue with EBSCO and RAILS to arrive at the final price for SWAN. One of the demands from EBSCO is that if a library withdraws from the SWAN group-purchase, it would not be able to rejoin at the discounted price. If your library is one of the 11 not participating in the deal, please let me know if you would like to be added back in, as we are still under negotiations. Those 11 libraries do not need to opt-out again if you wish to remain out of the deal.
Any public library participating currently will automatically be included in the year-4 renewal. If you would like your library to withdraw from the group purchase arrangement, please submit your library’s opt-out by February 24th, end of the day.
