The Aspen 23.07 release is now live. This release includes the ability to display public item notes.
Public item notes
Record detail displays in Aspen can now display an item record's local notes. Aspen will not display circulation or staff notes.
This feature is available for use, but we have not activated it yet. There is a bug with our implementation where Aspen will also display custom item notes such as the checkout counts we used to record. Once we have this resolved, we will turn this feature on.
We have not had functioning public notes in many years, so cataloging staff should consider how you may wish to take advantage of this feature. Only one public note will display per record.
Our Bibliographic Services team will look at the public notes currently in our database and reach out to libraries if any cleanup appears necessary. We will let you know when the bug is fixed and we are ready to roll out this feature.
eContent Source bugfix
The eContent Source search facet previously included "Hoopla" as a limiter even if all Hoopla titles were suppressed due to availability from other sources. This bug is fixed with this release.
