The 24.05 release of Aspen is live. This release includes the following bug fixes and enhancements.
Aspen Discovery
Updates to record grouping
Video games and other materials should now group better. In addition, graphic novels, manga, and comics will group separately from books.
There is a new format group of "Other" to handle video games and miscellaneous other materials such as kits, board games, and library of things. Previously, we saw instances where video games would not group because they had different format groups and couldn't be manually grouped. Now, they should group together better automatically, but also can be manually grouped.
Graphic novels, manga, and comics will now have a format group of comic. This will allow them to group separately from books. Comics can be manually grouped with books in cases where that is appropriate.
Accessibility updates
This release includes several accessibility enhancements, primarily to updated ARIA attributes and underlying metadata.
In addition, links across the catalog will now display with an underline. This additional link indicator improves accessibility, especially in cases where the contrast between the link color and body text are not sufficient.
New integrations
There is a new events integration for Assabet Interactive, and a new option for the Novelist Select display, which we will review at the upcoming Discovery and User Experience Advisory group meeting.
