Item routed to HOLDS at checkin when there are no outstanding holds

The available flag will occasionally become "stuck" when the hold has expired on hold shelf and will cause the item to route to HOLDS when checked in. There are two ways to clear the available flag, one will retain the Previous user ID information, the other will not.

To retain the Previous user ID:

  1. Place a copy level hold on the item for one of your generic patrons
  2. Check the item in to trap the hold
  3. Cancel the hold
  4. Check the item in

If you do not wish to retain the Previous user ID:

  1. Check the item out to one of your generic users
  2. Check the item in
