Discovery & User Experience Working Group (DUX)

The Discovery Working Group is comprised of library staff across public and technical services. The group supports the SWAN discovery platform through participation in user research and testing; library staff training; and input on development priorities, configuration changes, and desired enhancements. 

Membership

This group meets for one full calendar year, with an open sign up process starting in October of each year. 

Chair: SWAN User Experience Manager

Responsibilities

Group members are expected to:

  • Attend group meetings in person and online
  • Collaborate with SWAN staff on user research activities, which could include:
    • Usability tests
    • A/B tests
    • User surveys
    • Patron interviews
  • Contribute to training as needed, through documentation and/or presentations online or in person at the annual SWAN Expo or other events
  • Participate in testing new features or configuration changes

Meetings

This group meets four times per year. Meetings are not recorded, but the chair provides notes for each meeting and any additional updates to the membership on group activity as needed through regular SWAN communications channels.
