Aspen Go-Live Starts October 18th

Submitted by Tara Wood on

Get ready! The first cohort of libraries will go live on Aspen starting October 18th. Here is what you can expect on your go-live day.

SWAN tasks

SWAN will complete the following tasks on your go-live day:

  • Remove the "beta catalog" badge in Aspen
  • Add list copying functions to Enterprise, so patrons can copy lists from Enterprise to Aspen
  • Update your Enterprise catalog with a banner linking to Aspen - see an example banner
  • Add the link to your Aspen catalog on the SWAN patron site and support site
  • Update WorldCat links to point to your Aspen catalog
  • Update the catalog URL in your notices to point to your Aspen catalog

Library tasks

We recommend that libraries complete the following tasks on the week of your go-live. Remember, your Enterprise catalog is still live, and you could choose to offer both catalogs to your patrons for a period of time if you prefer.

  • Update any links to the catalog on your website, including My Account links
  • Update your search box to point to the new catalog
  • Update your OPAC computers to point to your Aspen catalog
  • Update links in other services, such as apps, newsletters, LibraryAware, acquisitions vendors, and printed marketing materials

Your Aspen catalog URLs will not change when you go live.
