The Aspen 22.12 release is now live. Highlights for this release include:
Preferred name settings
Users can now set their preferred name settings under My Account > Contact Information. The preferred name will appear in Aspen, as well as in the Preferred Name field in Symphony.
Currently, Aspen does not yet update the setting in Symphony Workflows to display the preferred name in the Name field, which is used in notices and the BLUEcloud Mobile app. We hope to make this available in an upcoming release.
Linked account updates
This release includes several changes to how linked accounts work in Aspen.
- Users can change their PIN without breaking their linked accounts.
- Users can remove accounts that have linked to theirs without changing their PIN, though they will be prompted with a recommendation to change their PIN.
- Aspen now displays more prominent messaging when someone has linked to your account.
Email updates for linked accounts are on the roadmap for the next release.
We have updated the instructions available on linked accounts in the SWAN patron site.
Volume holds sorting
When users place a hold on a serial or multi-volume work, your library's copies will appear first in the list in your catalog.
New browse category settings
When you add a new browse category, you will have the option to save your new category without automatically adding to your catalog home page.
Libby/Overdrive label
The labels for Overdrive in the catalog have been updated to Libby/Overdrive.
Facet count change
After testing from our Discovery & User Experience Advisory group (DUX) we will no longer display facet counts in the Aspen catalogs. Due to differences in how some of the facets calculate counts, the counts were not always accurate. In addition, Aspen already displays a reliable search results count.
