MARC Listener Procedures (OCLC Gateway Export)

MARC Listener Bibliographic is a capability within WorkFlows that allows the loading of bibliographic records directly from OCLC Connexion Client. This is a configuration available for Cataloging Libraries only.

In order to set up MARC Listener in your OCLC Connexion Client, you must have a MARC Listener Bibliographic policy set up within Workflows by SWAN staff. Once this policy is established, setting up the Connexion Client can occur.

Connecting to MARC Listener 

Log in to your OCLC Connexion Client 

Select the Tools --> Options in the Menu Bar

Select the Export tab --> Create button --> Select OCLC Gateway Export and Click OK

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT SWAN 

Input the Host Name and Port number 

Check the Send Local System Logon ID and Password to un-grey the Local System Authorization

Enter the Logon ID and Password that you received from SWAN and Click OK

Save the entry as MARC Listener and Click OK

Click Apply to complete the Destination setup.

Setting up the Records Characteristics and Field Export Options

SWAN requires setting up the following buttons on the Export tab 

Click on the Record Characteristics button and enter the following information and Select OK

Click on the Field Export Options button and enter the following information and Select OK

Click Apply button to finalize the changes.

Click Close to close the Options box. 

MARC Listener is now set-up and ready to use.
