Boxed Sets

As of January 2017, it is SWAN policy that boxed sets be circulated as a single unit, including but not limited to television series. These items have a single barcode, circulate as one item, and check out for a minimum of 2-weeks per Circulation Policy. Please do not include season information in the volume area of call numbers for these items.

  • The item has a single barcode and circulates as a complete set.
  • The call number does not include season information in the volume area of the call number.

Call numbers may contain season information as long as it is not in the volume area/analytic of the call number.
Correct: DVD TV SERIES DOWNTON SEASON 6
Incorrect: DVD TV SERIES DOWNTON|zSEASON6

  • Boxed sets should NOT be broken apart into multiple items/discs.
  • The call numbers should NOT contain disc or part information if the boxed set is circulating as a single item.
