Lost Cards

Learn how to mark a patron's card Lost in two different ways. 

Modify User Wizard

  1. Click the Modify User wizard in the Users wizard group.
  2. In the User ID box, scan the user's ID. If you do not have the user's ID, use the User Search helper to locate the user's record.
  3. In the Basic Info tab, insert the new user ID in the User ID box. Enter a note in the Extended Info tab to explain why you issued the patron a new record.
  4. Click Save and Close

This wizard will move the old User ID into a PREV_ID field in the Extended Info tab. This will block the old library card from checking out. 

User Lost Card Wizard

  1. Click the User Lost Card wizard in the Special Wizard group.
  2. Search for the user's record.
  3. In the New User ID box, scan the new user ID.
  4. Click Assign New Card.
  5. Click Close.

This wizard will change the user profile to LOSTCARD create a duplicate record and will block the duplicate library card from checking out. SWAN created a maintenance report to remove the duplicate records that were created by this wizard.
